Bill, open the driver's door and find the black plastic vent in the rear of the door frame. Gently remove that vent (I can't recall the location of the tabs) and look for the thin steel cable. This is the trunk release. Gently pull it, and the trunk should unlock.
I've not owned a cab in ~10 years, so my memory might be a bit foggy. Hope this helps!
Bill, my '94 cabriolet has an electric trunk release button on the drivers left side panel under the dash next to where the hood release lever is located. I'd be surprised if you don't have one too. Mine works great, I never use the key because it takes 15 minutes of fiddling to get the key to work. Just push the button and presto, you can access your golf clubs and make your tee time!
