I want to replace my cluster bulbs with leds. I have a tip 94 968 cabrio, Seems like there are 3 Big bulbs and around 17 smaller ones. Can someone tell me what size the big bulbs are and what leds I need to get. I'll probably get them from http://www.superbrightleds.com.
thanks in advance for any help.

Steve, I just ordered some on Monday night from a different site. They were a special 12V LED that disperses the light more evenly. I guessed at the size based on the picture of the bulbs; I'll message you the information after I make sure they work for our gauages.
Take care, Dan
The bulbs I got are a bit small for the gauge lighting; they'll work for some of the other dash bulbs though. I think the bulb that actually fits is #194 on www.autolumination.com

Permalink Reply by Steve Follman on February 6, 2012 at 6:26pm Hey Jeff, thanks. I did order something like this a while back but from the orient. After spending the cash on the new cluster LED reflectors and the $ to have my mechanic install it I found out that they sucked. I'm not saying these won't work, I wish I had seen them before I purchased the others. I bought a new cluster and want to replace the bulbs with LEDS.

Permalink Reply by Jeff Slow on February 6, 2012 at 7:15pm I fell into the same trap when I got LED's for my 944 off of Ebay.
I have pretty high hopes for the stuff from Jager. I am upgrading the instrument cluster with a white gauge surround trim, the bezel rings, and the white LED's.
I will post pix when I get the cluster installed on Friday.
FYI, One thing that really is going to bug me is that the lighted portion of the climate control will still be incandescent. Jager informed me that if I sent them the climate control unit, they will solder the LED's so that the entire interior lighting matches. I'll be sending them the climate control in the spring to get that done.
I will keep you posted!

Permalink Reply by Steve Follman on February 6, 2012 at 7:35pm Jeff, I cant wait to see the images. Did you get everything from them. Do you have to cut open the cluster to get the white surround trim? I thought about it but thought it might be too much to take on.
I replaced all of my led's in my climate except the fan button and the switch to the left. I get a nice blue glow when its on.

Also, a warning to other 968.net'ers. I purchased a red coloured dial kit from porscheshop.uk.
VERY DISSAPOINTING.
For $166.00 plus shipping I got a sheet of stickers. The speedometer portion of the gauge dial is off about a half inch. My mechanic sent the entire cluster to a VDO company since the cluster would need recalibrated after the dials were installed. When they went to install the dials is when they noticed the discrepancy.
When I reported this issue to porscheshop.uk , they basically told me I was out of luck. THey refused to refund my money or to even reprint the one dial and mail it to me.
So far, I have about a grand wrapped up in purchasing the upgrades, labor, shipping, etc... for my instrument cluster upgrade.
Sooooo. Instead of red guages with a white surround and bezels, I will only have the white surround and bezels w/ the LED upgrade.
Such is life.
I strongly recommend that anyone thinking about purchasing any items from porscheshop.uk think twice. They are not honorable.
