I have a 1992 968.  Will a racing chip improve speed performance.  I have been advised that the difference would be noticeable on a dynometer, but not in the 'seat of your pants.'   Thoughts?

Sorry for the late reply: yes they are noticable on a dyno.  If your getting a chip get one from RS Barn or Promax.  I have the Promax 7700 US chip in my 1995.  And its a noticeble power improvement that doesn't need a dyno to feel the extra power.  One of the editors of Excelence magazine did a review of the Promax 7100 chip a few years ago in his 968 after it hit 100,000 miles and did a write up for the magizine.  The Promax chips are from the UK and run about $175 shipped; RS Barn run $159-179 depending on what you already have done to your vehicle they offer free upgrades if you do any future mods to your car (exhaust, intake, cams, etc.).
