Anybody have a lexan hatch window they'd like to sell?

I know this is a long shot, but I'm wondering if there's anybody here who has a lexan rear window that for some reason they no longer need.  I'm turning my car into a mostly-track car, and am working…Continue

Does removing the passenger airbag control unt trigger the warning light?

Years ago, I disconnected the passenger side airbag on my 92 968 and installed a 3 ohm resistor to trick the system into thinking the airbag was still connected. Now, I've removed the airbag module…Continue

Any experience with power seat repair?

I have a pair of classic gray seats which, other that a little scuffing on the bottom part of the back of the drivers seat, are in near-flawless condition (yes, even the drivers side bolster), and…Continue

Fiberglass hood for 968?

I've been asking around about this, so I thought I'd post here.  Does anybody know about the availability of a lightweight hood (doesn't matter if it's fiberglass, carbon fiber, fiberglass overlain…Continue

Dan, There are three connectors going into the airbag control unit, each with 12 pins.  There's a pink connector, an off-white one, and a blue one.  On the blue connector, you need to jumper the #11 and #12 pins, according to Ivan of…

I'm interested in this as well.  I just roved the driver and passenger air bags and installed the 3 ohm resisters, but my airbag light went off right away.  I just removed the airbag and main warning lights for the time being.  I…

Merdawg, I just sent you a PM.  You should either get an email notification of it, or some sort of notification on the site when you log in.  If you don't get it, please reply to this thread and let me know, and we'll figure out…

Merdawg968, I sent you a PM (you have to accept me as a "friend" before we can exchange IMs - site rule), but I'll repeat here in the meantime.  Is the hood steel or fiberglass?  If it's fiberglass, I'm definitely…

Hi Dan.  I'll try to check on shipping today, but even though I'm off work today, it's turned out to be a very busy day, so I may not be able to get to it till tomorrow.  Somebody told me Greyhound shipping has the cheapest…

Hi Jason, I have a set of 996 10-spoke 17" wheels (7.5 x 17 front, 9 x 17 rear) with a practically-new set of Sumitomo HTRZIII tires that I'm planning to sell, as I'm converting my car to a track car, and am switching to 18"…

Ron   Thanks for the positive comments about GT Racing.  I'll look into it.  I have heard, however, that fiberglass hoods, from GT Racing as well as others, are notoriously difficult to get to fit correctly.

i live in colorado springs where gt racing is located, and the owner is a great guy. I bought my front splitter from him for my 968 and it is very durable. When I took my splitter to the paint shop while i was getting my car painted, the guys…

Ray, Thanks for the encouraging words. The way I see it, my car has been a lot of fun as a street car, and as a great car to learn the early stages of track driving one (it's lightly modified, so it holds its own on the track better than a…

Nope, I think you're doing it right. Given its value as a street car is low, and you're obviously one who enjoys the building phase (which never ends, for better or worse), you're absolutely on the right track. One of the cool…

Ray,   Sigh... You're probably right, I'm probably going about this all wrong, but I'm past the point of no return - I've got the engine out of my car, with the head at the machine shop, and 951 connecting rods on the way to…

Andy,

Yes, I spotted your car right away. I am very interested if you still have it toward the end of February...but if not, all the better for you.  The more I know about the 968 series the better I like them.  I think Porsche would have done well to continue production, but I suppose the buying public just considered this another 944 and were ready for something new.

Let's stay in touch...oh, and one thing I wanted to ask.  When I look at the pictures, it looks as if the right side sits lower than the left.  Can you look and see?

I will be in Brownwood on the 15th, and if that's convenient, perhaps we could meet up if you still have it.  Brownwood is about 1.5 hrs from Austin.

thanks:rob
