Scotty Boy said… Hi Jeff,
Can you give me any info you have on my '92 cab. VIN ends in 261. Thx!
Hi Jeff...thanks very much, I'll think about this for a bit but I believe I know a shop that can probably handle that tricky weld if it's required. I appreciate the part number!
Cheers,
Larry
Hi Jeff,
Had a break in weather and was able to take the car for short spin and now am more than anxiously awaiting the next few weeks so I can take out more often!... In any event, Steve did not leave the door stop part in the car anywhere that I can see so if you do have that part number I'd appreciate it...also, from what I can tell it almost looks like the missing part may have been pulled out of the door jamb (the mounting holes seem to be rough/a little bigger than they're supposed to be)...do you recall if it will be a straight replacement without any re-tapping of the holes? Thanks Jeff!
Ian Ash said… Jeff, you're absolutely right. I went out and checked and sure enough 9/91!
Thanks again for setting me straight on this. In hind sight, I should have checked the VIN sticker a long time ago and would have realized the error made. Who knew!!

Ian Ash said… Jeff, the production completion date on my C.O.A. says Jan. 23/92. Do you think it's actually wrong? Based on what you know it seems that it is.

Ian Ash said… Hi Jeff, you know someone told me that the recessed hood emblem was used only for the 1992 model year. Thanks for clearing that up! That's pretty cool. I knew my car was a fairly early production number but I thought it was 156th based on the VIN #. You've been a lot of help with information!
Thanks, Ian
Ian Ash said… Hi Jeff, thanks for clearing up the rear seat thing. The c.s. person at PCNA should have know that wouldn't you think?? In any case the heated sport seats are listed on my C.O.A. I added the 17" cup wheels about 6 months after I bought the car. I really like the rear seat area. It's so much more practical than the tiny seats. You be amazed how bottles of wine you can fit into those nice soft storage cubbies!!

Ian Ash said… Hi Jeff,
I bought the car in Sept. 2006 with aprox 12,000mi from a independent Porsche dealer here in Vancouver. I know it was originally sold new in the Chicago area.
The options listed on the C.O.A. are as follows: U.S. Standard/Emissions, Heated Sport Seats- Elec. vert. adj. Porsche CR-1 Radio, Cruise Control & Bridgestone tires. As you can see, no mention at all for the Rear seat Delete. PCNA could never answer that one for me! The car came with standard non heated seats. We think that the Chicago dealer switched them with another car in stock so that the customer would purchase the car. Obviously, there was a size issue here. Well that's about all I can tell you. It's still like a brand new car!
Cheers,
Ian
Ian Ash said… Hi Jeff, nice to hear from you. Unfortuneately I have to put the Red Baron up for sale. Hopefully It will go to someone who will really look after it! It's way to nice to be a daily driver!
Cheers,
Ian
