Purchased 12-9-96 in San Jose, California. I am the second owner and the car had 29,000 miles on it. The car now has approximately 40,000 miles. This car was originally a lease car out of Champion Porsche in Pompano Beach Florida and was returned to the the bank after the lease finished(3 year). The car was sold by the bank that originally issued the lease and was subsequently wholesaled to the west coast exotic car broker that I made my purchase from. Service history was sketchy so I paid for a Porsche dealer to do a pre buyer inspection to calm some buyer anxiety. | |||||||||
Repair History: |
Inspection indicated that one front fender was replaced due
to minor collision damage otherwise the coupe checked out fairly good and the mileage
appeared to be accurate. My history started with a six speed tranny overhaul due to pinion bearing failure at 33,000 miles, Weltmeister Chip installation (Automotion), 4 Yokohama AVS S-1 Z sticky street all-weather tires from Tire Rack, Jacobs Electronic high output coil and ignition system, new clutch and very expensive dual mass flywheel blown at 3-Com Park during Golden Gate PCA autocross in June 98, one blown heater water switch replaced in February 99 with timing belt replacement done at the same time, and a new Nakamichi Music Bank system with 4-CD changer that fits in the glove compartment with extra room to spare. |
